First frost

So the weather man said the first frost of the winter is about to set in so I thought it was time to get rid of what was left in the garden. Although I was not happy with that as my peppers were just starting to really come into their own, so I picked what was left and got rid of the plants. It was really good to get my hands dirty again, and I must admit I left one plant, the runner beans. Only because it looks so alive and green so I will pull it up when I can bring myself to!!

Although this process makes me sad as its the end of the year and my yard looks dull and very gray it means I can start planning for the future!!!

Now we can build the beds up and start stocking up on what we need for next year, which I have to add is the best time for it as garden centers have a lot of summer garden stuff at a reduced rate!!

Only a short note but I will keep you posted!!

End of the Year

So this year we managed to grow tomatoes, peppers, chillies, courgettes, potatoes, herbs, and carrots. We did plant a lot more but due to the fact we did not have a clue what we were doing in our yard we lost a lot and what did grow successful was not that great.

The plan this year is to be well planned and prepared! To help ourselves stay planned and to help others I am keeping this blog. Hopefully I will get input for other growers on what we are doing wrong.

This is the first blog of many, the next I hope to include some pictures of our yard and are plans of what we are planning on doing.

Till next time ....
